Adrienne Smith, I am 30 years-old going on 18 and I have been in Atlanta,GA for about 23 years now (UGH--oh the pain). Since I was about 12 years old my friends have affectionately called me Tiq and I would retire it but it kinda just fits me now. Sweatshopbytiq has been my online anything goes mainly corset and bustier line for about 7 years now. I am also a fulltime mommy to two gorgeous children (boys no doubt-10 years apart too) one of which has severe autism. Many moons ago before all the celebrity hype came about autism, there weren't many resources. I couldn't find anyone daycare center that would take my son. I had no idea that it was illegally to deny a child care because of mental disability. Unforunately, I was going to school fulltime pre-med and the social security check that was coming didn't cover much of the bills. I was forced to go on welfare because I couldn't work without proper daycare for my now 5 year-old-child. I started selling sewing patterns on ebay and caught wind of the really cool "diyers" that were making one of a kind clothing. So I picked up a sewing maching and started off with recontructed shirts. One day I literally woke up and said I only want to do bustiers and corsets. Oh and I want them to be made out of really fun fabrics that aren't normally scene. I was shocked at how fast my business grew !!!
After I built a large enough clientale, I felt comfortable enough to sale my one of a kind pieces to unique specialty boutiques.

The company is expanding into global markets so with larger exposure comes better products and more items with that special touch of whimsy I am known for. XOXO
